NEU-W495

Intro

NEU-W495 is a mastering-grade EQ modeled after one of Germany’s finest broadcast equalizers, renowned for its clarity, precision, and unmatched tonal balance.

Description

NEU-W495 captures the sophisticated character of the original 1970s module, combining transparent high-end detail with the thick, musical low end that defines vintage analog tone. With selectable frequency points for each band and smooth proportional-Q curves, this EQ offers precise and musical control that makes it indispensable for mastering and mix bus applications.

Whether used to open up vocals, tighten bass, or add air and definition to the mix, NEU-W495 brings the quality and consistency once reserved for high-end mastering consoles right into your DAW.

History

The hardware that inspired NEU-W495 was designed to meet the strictest broadcast standards in Germany and quickly became a benchmark for high-fidelity equalization. Revered for its natural sound and consistent channel matching, it was used in mastering consoles and mobile recording rigs for decades. Our engineers modeled one of the earliest versions, preserving the original’s impeccable tonal balance and gentle analog warmth.
