Wave Alchemy Glow

In 1981, a digital reverb was released that would go on to define the sound of an era and forever change the landscape of music production. Its iconic character — bold, atmospheric, and otherworldly — became synonymous with the ethereal vocals, ambient synths, and gated drums of the 1980s. This reverb was the RMX, and it left an unmistakable imprint on countless classic records.

Glow is a loving revival and reinvention of that legendary unit. We’ve faithfully captured its signature algorithms and sonic behavior, then elevated it with modern DSP, workflow innovations, and creative tools that push the original design into bold, uncharted territory.

A Legendary Reverb, Reborn

Glow isn’t just a recreation — it’s a reimagination of what iconic reverb can be in modern music production. Named for the luminous, radiant quality it imparts to sounds, Glow adds dimension, color, and vintage magic to everything it touches. From the moment you activate it, you're transported into the hazy, neon-drenched sonic world of the early '80s — where reverb was larger-than-life and full of emotion.

Glow’s signature NonLin 2 algorithm, a defining gated reverb sound, is just the beginning. Explore surreal Reverse programs that defy physical acoustics, lush Ambience settings that stretch space into infinity, and a range of 14 expertly modeled programs including Halls, Plates, and creative spatial effects. Whether you're sculpting vintage synth textures or adding cinematic drama to modern drums, Glow delivers immediate atmosphere, texture, and tone.

Shape Your Sound

Reverb should serve your mix, not overpower it — and Glow gives you intuitive control to shape how it interacts with your dry signal.

• Smooth lets you intelligently tame transients before reverb processing, ensuring the effect focuses on tone and sustain rather than sharp attacks. This produces a warmer, rounder reverb that integrates beautifully with drums and percussion.
• Duck creates automatic sidechain-style ducking between the dry and wet signal, allowing you to maintain clarity in busy mixes without complex routing or automation. Your reverb can now breathe dynamically in time with your music.

Modulate with Character

With Glow, modulation isn't just an effect — it's a textural dimension. The Flux parameter controls a multi-layered modulation engine under the hood, seamlessly blending:

• Stereo imaging shifts
• Subtle pitch modulation
• Width and depth filtering
• 3D spatialization

From gentle chorus-like movement to rich, swirling modulation, Flux adds life and evolution to your reverb tails. Whether you're adding shimmer to vocals or lo-fi swirl to synths, Flux keeps your reverbs vibrant and emotionally engaging.

The Iconic Sound — Perfected

Glow faithfully models every nuance of the original RMX — from its unique nonlinear response curves to its early hardware artifacts and quirky DSP quirks. But we didn’t stop there.

Using advanced analysis and hybrid convolution + DSP modeling, we not only reproduced the legendary tone with surgical precision, but enhanced it for the needs of modern producers:

• Deeper, smoother reverb tails
• Greater headroom and dynamic range
• Enhanced stereo imaging
• Optional “Modern” tone mode with improved low-end response and top-end clarity

You get the exact sound you remember — or the upgraded version you always wanted.

Modernized, Not Compromised

The original RMX had a sound that was instantly musical, but it was limited by the technology of its time. Glow brings that sound into the modern age with enhancements that extend its utility into contemporary production:

• Modern mode tightens the low end, enhances transient detail, and sharpens stereo focus
• Use the Vintage or Gritty character modes for retro coloration or creative degradation
• Optional tempo-synced pre-delay, 4-band mid/side EQ, and dual-band stereo width controls make Glow a powerful mix tool as well as a sound design playground

Creative Control Without Complexity

Glow gives you effortless control over complexity with tools designed to deliver the perfect sound, fast:

• Gate lets you transform any of the 14 programs into gated reverb by dynamically shaping decay based on the input signal — perfect for recreating that legendary '80s gated drum smash or for more modern punchy reverb textures.

Character modes let you tailor the personality of your reverb:

• Clean for pristine, hi-fi reverb
• Vintage for warm, analog-style coloration
• Gritty for dirty, SP-1200–inspired crunch

No need for extra plugins — Glow provides deep shaping options right at your fingertips.
