DECADE treats recording history as a control. Users slide along a timeline from the 1950s to the present, and the plug-in reshapes the drums the way a studio of that year would have: console color, saturation, filtering, compression, transient response and room sound all shift together. Small moves matter, since the late seventies sound different from the early seventies, so it behaves less like a vintage filter and more like a period-correct signal chain.
A second axis sets the space, from tight and dry to large and reverberant, scaled to suit the chosen year. DECADE also models how listeners heard each era (acetate and radio, vinyl, cassette, CD, MP3 and streaming) with wow, flutter, crackle, dropouts and data compression tuned to each format. The format can follow the timeline automatically or be locked on its own, so a modern kit can be heard through a 1960s record.
An eight-module rack exposes every stage of the chain for manual adjustment and reordering, with an ERA control for blending the whole treatment and a MIX control for parallel processing. A live analyzer compares the dry and processed signals. Activation is one-time and works offline, with no iLok needed.
